Thankful in the Trenches
Preview Clip – “Thankful in the Trenches” is a multimedia video project I created for Life Community Church in Kirkland, WA.
Tools used: Figma, Blender, Premiere Pro.
Background & Goals

I received a brief summary of the sermon including the title, key verses, focus, and the desired application. My Objective was to create a multimedia video to promote one of Life Community Church’s upcoming sermons. With that information I was able to create this video that shows how we are stronger together than we are alone.

Final Outcome
A relatable message brought to life through design and animation.

A blend of 3D design, 2D/3D animation, and motion graphics, this piece explores how visual storytelling can express the importance of gratitude in the midst of our everyday struggles. Designed for Life Community Church, the finished video was featured on their social media to encourage engagement with the Thankful in the Trenches message.

Note: The version shown here is a refined portfolio cut. It closely matches the original video published by Life Community Church.
Reflection
This project pushed me to balance integrating 2d animation attached to a 3D model, combining those aspects to create a device that can send a message.
Through this process I learned about creating product showcases, and how I can use that to tell a message. I learned how you can utilize space and lighting to illustrate an idea in a simple and straight-forward manner that doesn’t feel empty.
